Open Source

S3Group will offer the lawful interception services under the name “S3LI”. S3LI utilizes a tested open source solution (openLI) for interception and processing of requests. This approach eliminates the need for expensive licenses, making our tapping provision financially attractive for providers. S3Group adds professional support to this, including assistance in setting up and maintaining your infrastructure.

Lawfull interception?

As a telecom operator in the Netherlands, the so-called interception obligation applies as stated in Article 13 of the Dutch Telecommunications Act. This means that your network must be interceptable, and you must be able to provide information about your customers if it is demanded.

Complying with the tapping obligation brings challenges regarding security requirements (BBGT) and network configuration. S3LI is designed to support providers in this regard and to ensure the correct processing of judicial orders. Our decades of experience certainly contribute to this. In fact, with SvSnet, we were at the forefront of the ETSI-NL standard. As a result, the Netherlands is now leading in the meticulous legal handling of orders.
